Fiscalization Consulting Session
Get Definitive Answers on Fiscalization – From an Expert With No Software to Sell
The Problem With Asking a Vendor for Compliance Advice
Say your POS software needs to work in Germany next year. Who do you ask? Most companies call their fiscal middleware vendor and ask what they need. That’s a natural move, but it comes with a catch: the vendor also sells a product. Their answer to “what do I need for Germany” will always circle back to what’s already on their shelf, whether or not it’s the right fit for your architecture. The regulation becomes a secondary concern to the sale. JB Fiscal Consulting doesn’t have that conflict, because we don’t sell software, hardware, or middleware of any kind.
What a Fiscalization Consulting Session Is
A Consulting Session is a structured meeting with one of JB Fiscal Consulting’s senior consultants. You bring the real situation: a country you’re entering, a vendor you’re evaluating, a rule you can’t quite parse. We walk through it together and give you a straight answer, grounded in the actual laws and bylaws that apply to your case, not a sales pitch dressed up as advice.
A session isn’t legal representation, and it isn’t tax filing. We don’t write your code or configure your fiscal device either. What we do is explain, in plain terms, what the regulation requires and how it applies to your specific setup. Think of it as the fastest route from “we’re not sure” to “here’s exactly what we need to do.”
What Topics a Consulting Session Can Cover
Sessions get built around your actual question, but most conversations land in one of five areas.
Country Entry and Scope Assessment
Before anything else, you need to know if your business or system type even falls under fiscal requirements in that country. We cover what triggers scope, how you’ll need to communicate with the local tax authority, what the first steps look like, and a realistic timeline so you can plan around it.
Certification Requirements and Process
Some countries require formal certification for the fiscal device, the POS software, or both. We explain whether certification applies to you, what the process and any related audit procedures look like, and where the risks and delays tend to show up. We also walk through the audit procedures tax authorities use to check compliance, and the fines or penalties that typically apply if requirements aren’t met – so you know what’s actually at stake, not just what’s required.
Hardware and Software Compliance
Do you need a fiscal printer? A TSE module, like the ones required in Germany? A fiscal memory unit? We break down which hardware and software components need to meet which technical standard – down to receipt requirements (the exact elements and format a receipt needs), accepted payment types and media, invoice rules, and the reports your system has to produce, whether that’s a Z report, an X report, a periodical report, or an EJ report.
Regulatory Interpretation
You’ve read the law, but the wording doesn’t map cleanly onto your architecture. This is where a consultant earns their keep: we interpret how a specific regulation applies to your business processes – sales, voucher handling, discounts, returns, item exchanges, voids, cancellations, advance and deferred payment, foreign customers, tax-free sales, e-commerce transactions, and the edge cases and exceptions that don’t fit the standard flow – not a generic version of it.
Solution and Vendor Evaluation (Unbiased)
Maybe you have a few fiscal middleware options on the table and want to know which one genuinely covers your target countries, and what fines or penalties you’d risk with the wrong choice. That’s a question no middleware vendor can answer objectively about their own product – but we can.
What You Receive
This isn’t a call that leaves you with a page of notes and nothing else. After the session, you get a full slide deck that covers both the legal and technical sides of what was discussed. The support doesn’t stop when the call ends, either: JB Fiscal Consulting answers follow-up questions tied to the session content for a couple of months, at no charge. Book a session for a specific country, and you’re also covered by our Regulatory Monitoring service for that country for six months, at no charge.
How a Consulting Session Works
Four steps, start to finish:
- Submit your brief. Tell us your question, your situation, and any relevant context before the session so we can prepare properly.
- We meet. The session happens over online meeting tools or on-site, whichever works better for your team. Recording is allowed if you’d like a copy for later.
- Get your answer. Our senior consultants walk through each question with the regulatory citations behind it.
- Follow-up. You keep access to written clarifications for a couple of months after the session, so nothing gets lost once the call ends.
Why Vendor-Neutral Advice Changes Your Outcome
Here’s the thing about independence: it’s not just a nice value statement, it changes the actual content of the advice.
- Recommendations follow the regulation, not a product line. We don’t have a portfolio to protect, so if a solution doesn’t fit your requirements, we’ll say so.
- Risk gets assessed across the whole picture, not just the parts one product handles. A vendor will tell you about the risks their tool solves. We tell you about all of them.
- Your source code and architecture stay yours. No vendor lock-in, no dependency on someone else’s product roadmap.
We’ve built this expertise across more than 45 countries, from Germany’s TSE requirements to certification rules in markets on the other side of the world. If you want a sense of the depth we cover before you book, the Fiscal Library and our YouTube channel are both public and free to browse.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a typical Consulting Session?
Most sessions run three to five hours; the length depends on how complex the topic is and how much discussion it needs. If your situation touches several regulatory areas, we can split it into a multi-part session so nothing gets rushed.
Can you advise on our specific POS architecture?
Yes – that’s the point. A Consulting Session is built around your actual system and the countries you’re targeting, not a generic overview. This isn’t a webinar; it’s a working session on your setup.
Do you provide written output after the session?
Yes. You’ll receive a slide deck that covers the legal and technical sides of the discussion, plus a Developers’ Essentials document for your tech team, and two months of free follow-up support by email.
How is this different from asking the vendor directly?
JB Fiscal Consulting has no software to sell — and no commercial reason to steer you toward one solution over another. The advice you get reflects the regulation, not a sales target.
Do you offer consulting sessions for multiple countries at once?
A single session usually focuses on one country, since the depth of detail needed doesn’t leave much room for more. For a multi-country expansion, we typically recommend a session per country, or per group of similar markets, so each answer stays specific.
