Ireland is an island situated in the Atlantic Ocean and separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea. The island is divided into two parts: Ireland (sometimes referred to as “the Republic of Ireland”) and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. The capital and the largest city is Dublin.

Regarding fiscalization rules, Ireland is a non-fiscal country and there are no specific laws/regulations specifically dedicated to the topic. There is no general obligation to use the cash register.

Accordingly, there is no communication of transaction data with the tax authorities, not on the transaction nor any other level such as e.g. daily revenue data level directly from the POS to TA. Since there are no law requirements regarding the particular equipment used at the point of sale, there is no procedure for approval/certification/registration of the POS application.

Z total reports have been mandatory since 2008. These are summaries of certain data which should be retained by means of an electronic journal or the tally roll
