ITALY: Lottery portal is now live

The National Revenue Agency issued a press release on March 6th 2020, in regards to the receipt lottery portal.

We remind you that from the 1st of July 2020, all adult citizens residing in Italy will be able to participate in the receipt lottery. All they need to do is to make a purchase equal to or greater than 1 euro and to present their lottery code.

To obtain the lottery code, it is mandatory to enter the tax code in the public area of the “Lottery Portal“. Once generated, the code can be printed on paper or saved on a mobile device (cell phones, smartphones, tablets, etc.).

The Lottery Portal will be available from 12:00 o’clock on the 9th of March 2020. It consists of a public area and a private area. The public area contains a series of information related to the lottery, such as the draw calendar, the winning ticket code, and information on how to participate and collect the prizes. In the public area, which can be accessed freely, without authentication, it will also be possible to generate the lottery code.

In the private area, which is accessible via Spid, Fisconline / Entratel or CNS (National Service Card) credentials, it will instead be possible to check the number of virtual tickets associated with the single electronic receipt received, to check any winnings, and to keep an eye on the terms for reclaiming the prizes.

The first monthly draw will take place on Friday, the 7th of August 2020 and it will include all fees sent and registered to the Lottery System between the 1st and 31st of July 2020, by 11:59 pm.
